Installing the crank. The crank is used. It had been ground 0.0020" under on the mains and 0.0030" under on the rod journals, hence is approaching end-of-life. It has been sitting around for a while, so though the connecting rod journals polished up nicely, there was some pitting on the main journals. Rather than have a problem later, I decided to take the crank in to Adrian's to have them look at it. They needed to re-grind the mains and brought them down to 0.0030" under - so this will be the last build on this crank, but since I'm planning on street use and limited miles each year, it'll probably last the life of the car anyway. The crank came back looking real nice. |
